God of War Laufey Is Delayed to May 20, 2027

Santa Monica Studio has moved God of War Laufey from February 16 to May 20, 2027. Why it is not a bad sign, and what it means for pre-orders and PC players.

God of War Laufey is no longer a February game. Santa Monica Studio announced today, November 4, that it’s moving the release from February 16 to May 20, 2027. The game is still a PS5 exclusive, and pre-orders stay open.

The studio says it wants the time for “finishing touches”. I don’t read much into it. Three months is a short slip for a game that already had a date and a price, and Ragnarök was delayed too before it came out. It also gets Laufey away from a crowded February, with Metro 2039, Persona 4 Revival and Fable all within three weeks.
